Robert Martin

Chairman and CEO

Robert Martin of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians is a recognized and respected leader across Indian Country, the U.S. and California. Robert has served more than 25 years in Morongo’s tribal government. He was first elected tribal chairman at the age of 32 and has served several terms as chairman since. Currently, Robert serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Naaminik Enterprise, LLC; a wholly owned subsidiary of Morongo Meten, Inc., a section 17 corporation of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians; that focuses on Tribal Economic Development and investments. 

Theresa Mathews

Vice Chair of Naaminik and Tribal Council of MBMI

Recognized for her strong leadership and advocacy for tribal sovereignty and tribal youth, Theresa Mathews served more than a decade on citizen committees for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians before being elected to the Morongo Tribal Council in July 2021.

Jason Carrizosa

Board Member and CAO of MBMI

As the Chief Administrative Officer for the tribe, Jason Carrizosa brings a unique blend of personal heritage and professional expertise to the role. Born and raised on the reservation, his life’s narrative is a testament to the empowering impact of our tribal programs, which have been instrumental in his development.

Louis Martin

Board Member and Tribal Council of MBMI

Louis Martin is a dedicated leader and proud member of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, committed to serving his community with integrity, vision, and compassion. Elected to the Tribal Council in July 2025, Louis brings a lifetime of hard work, cultural pride, and community service to his role.

Marguerite Pablo

Board Member

Marguerite Pablo is a dynamic and dedicated leader with a strong background in cultural preservation, grant management, and community engagement. She currently serves as the President of the Executive Board of Directors for Malki Museum, located on the Morongo Indian Reservation, where she leads monthly board meetings, coordinates major cultural events—including the Agave Roast, Kewet, and Fall Gathering—and oversees the production of the Malki Newsletter and the Journal of California and Great Basin Anthropology. She also directs fundraising campaigns and manages board approvals for museum donations and archival collections.
